If it's wrong, I've probably said it...

I've never really ever been much of a fan of the Rolling Stones. I realize their impact on music and all. I'm just not a fan. So I am biased in saying this.

The halftime show sucked.

Plain and simple.

The Stones sounded old and tired. Hell, by the end of the set Mick sounded winded. I was chatting with some friends online during the show and as soon as the first song started up, I said, "I bet they cant' say 'You make a dead man come'". I was surprised that they said they can't get no girly action, though!

I don't know that going Motown all the way for the halftime show would have been better either. The pregame show was pretty lame, too. It's been posted elsewhere but I'll repeat it here. Why couldn't they have given the pregame performers a few more minutes and let them do whole songs instead of a medley that served very little justice to the music they represented. It would have been no different if it had been the 12 minute set for halftime, though, so, like I said, it wouldn't have been any better at halftime.

I don't have much of a solution, really. Pick better acts, I guess. Use time wisely, mabye. If you're going to pay homage, do it properly. If you want a big name, pick one that can live up to the expectations, instead of one that lives off the name.

Agreed,

How many times do we have to see Mick singing those songs anyways.
They chose a Safe Band to do the halftime show, but it did not sizzle, it fizzled.

2 thumbs up!  My sentiments exactly (although Paint it black is their best).

Yes, I am sorry to say what I watched although briefly, was nothing more then some aging rockers thinking they still have it.... well they don't. All the folks surrounding them were screened, had to be 35 or less and allowed in free if willing to stand in the tunnels doing nothing until the RS's half time performance. Afterwards, I understand they got to watch the last half. What a misleading joke.

On a sports radio show today a listener said,"If your grandkids have grandkids you should not be playing halftime shows."

I thought they should've gotten an act from the Detroit area, but not necessarily a Motown act. Maybe somebody like Eminem or Kid Rock. Or if they wanted someone older Bob Seger.

If it was up to me I would've gotten the White Stripes.

The geriatric rocker (Mick) should just give it up and retire. Their half time shown "stunk"!

Did you see Mick's upper arm flaps?

Looked like my great grandma's arms................
