If it's wrong, I've probably said it...
Which one is best?

A little help please...

I spent some time briefly looking at sites like iTunes, Napster, and Sony Music today. I'd like to know if anyone uses these sites, or any similar services and if they have any advice about them. I'm trying to decide which one is best or if any of them are worth using.

I specifically want to be able to listen to the purchased songs with my computer, MP3 player (not an iPod), and also my CD player (that can read and play MP3 files). Basically, I need MP3 format or something easily converted to MP3.

Thanks in advance.

Umm frankly I would just get Mirc and then hop on the #mp3 channels. The learning curve is steeper for this option though.

Yeah, that's a problem for me... I've only known about Mirc for 7 years and never bothered to learn how to use it... I know, I'm slow...

Also, I'm on a dial up connection that drops off quite a bit... Stupid Ft Ord and it's s#!%%y telephone lines and cable contract... Can't get DSL or cable broadband... So, the upside for a pay service is I'd be able to pick up where I left off... can you do that with mirc?

yes you can resume with mirc... if you are using dial-up I would stick with a free service as any of the pay joints are going to still be slow and you would be paying for the privilege. I actually pay for Kazaa and I like that when I am getting stuff that is easy to find. For the harder to find stuff or for songs that have been spoofed on Kazaa I still go back to Mirc.
