If it's wrong, I've probably said it...
Dodgers/Phillies Front Row Field in LA

This weekend we are going to drive down to LA and see the Phillies play the Dodgers at Dodgers Stadium. I'm really looking forward to this trip. It was all brought on by a recent trade in baseball. The Florida Marlins traded, among other players, Hee Seop Choi, the only Korean-born position player in the majors, to the Dodgers. I have to admit I'm a fan of the guy. I started following his stats last year with the Cubs and was pretty glad to see him move to the Marlins during the off-season (I lived in Florida for about 6 years before I joined the Army). I had hoped to go see the Marlins come to San Francisco but they came early in the year and won't be back.

So, I got to talking with my wife and I was able to talk her into making a trip down to LA to see a game. I called the funeral detail NCOIC and got permission to go for the weekend. I then got on eBay and found some sweet front row, field level tickets on the first base side. I won that auction last night. I just got done with the hotel reservations. I originally wanted to stay somewhere close to the stadium and toyed with the idea of walking, but the only pet-friendly hotel we could find near the stadium was on the pricy side, so we'll be staying a little further away. That's all right, though, since we'll be doing more around the city than just going to the ball game. We'll definetely be hitting Korea Town (good thing I'm getting my bonus the same weekend).

Now we just have to figure out what else we want to do. We're going to drive down on Friday night, so we'll have all day Saturday. I plan on getting to the ballpark extremely early to catch warm ups and maybe get some autographs. I'm not a big fan of either team, but in addition to Choi, I do like Jim Thome quite a bit. I already have autographed 8X10's of both players framed in my office.

I can't wait!
