If it's wrong, I've probably said it...

So, I got to go to my third baseball game of the season yesterday. The Cleveland Indians made their only appearance in Oakland this year and we caught the rubber match of the weekend series. I was really excited about the game. It's been about 2 1/2 years since I got to see the Tribe play and that was the first time in over 15 years before that.

Our seats were on the field level, about 18 rows up behind first base and the visiting dugout. I originally thought about trying to get there extra early in order to try and score some pics and autographs, but we decided not to. At the Dodgers game I was really annoyed at all the kids and adults that stood directly in front of my seat, hawking at the players to come over or throw a ball. They would then show sour grapes when the players failed to do as told, so I decided I didn't want to be one of those people.

We got there about an hour early. I made a food and drink run for us and my wife and I watched the warmups. I pointed out the players to her so she could see the players she had seen on TV so many times this season. We were decked out in our Indians gear and she was wearing her Omar Vizquel jersey. She especially wanted me to point him out to her. She originally got that jersey because I had told her that he was one of my favorite players on the team. Here's a pic -

It was breast cancer awareness day and there was a pregame parade of survivors and family members. They finished off with releasing some doves, presenting a check to a foundation, and then having all the survivors and family members release pink balloons from the outfield grass. It was a very nice deal and I think it helped raise the awareness of the people in the stadium.

The game was a pitchers' duel. Both Barry Zito and Jake Westbrook pitched very well. The only score came off a second inning homerun for Oakland. Zito got 10 strikeouts and that scored every fan in the stadium a coupon for a free two liter bottle of pepsi. Unfortunately, the Tribe did lose 1-0.

Overall, the game was fun, even though the Indians lost. We had a good time and got to see a lot of good plays. I took over 100 pictures before the battery went dead. I'm just going to share one more here. It's of Omar Vizquel laying down a bunt. This one eventually went foul, but he did manage to get a succesful sacrifice bunt to move Coco Crisp (yeah, that's a real name) shortly after this. Vizquel is one of the best Shortstops in the game today and is my favorite player.
