If it's wrong, I've probably said it...
Blog articles, that is...

I got the idea for this earlier today and have to thank Gideon and Little Whip for the inspiration. It started with Gideon's "Welcome to JU..." article Link. I commented that when I first came to JU, I was kind of mild in my posting. I still am in some ways. I stay off the politics forums. I don't post much that is inflammatory. Mostly funny stuff that happens to me with the occasional rant.

Well, while I was commenting, I got a little off topic and wrote about my very first featured article. It was the third I had written here at JU and I commented about how I felt a little sad that my absolute favorite article that I've written since I've been here was no longer at the top of my Top Articles list in my sidebar. It is by far my best writing, in my opinion. It was the hardest thing I've ever written and the most emotional.

Well, Little Whip asked that I post a link to it there and I did. All of this got me thinking about another article that Gideon wrote a while back. This one was titled "Reminding Myself Why I Blog" and can be found here Link. In it, Gideon talked about how very often, inflammatory blogs got more posts than some of the really well written, well thought out articles. He also mentioned "sadly, my top article remains the Mary Kate Olsen post" in his post.

Well, that brings me to the point of this post. And hopefully I'm not stealing something from someone here. Go check out Angloesque's post "You steal my blog; I steal your ... uh, something." here Link for more information on this sort of thing.

I want to know what you think is your best piece of work here at JU. Post me a title and a link and maybe a reason why it's important to you or why it's your favorite article. I promise I'll check it out.

My favorite article that I've written is "Something I never want to do again...". You can see it here Link, if you like. It's a deeply personal piece.

What a neat idea, chiprj.

I read your Something I Never Want to Do Again article, and it was was really beautiful. It moved me.

The article that I put the most emotion into was When He Left Link . I kind of relived the day my husband left as I wrote the article, and as painful as it was to think about and write, it was also a bit of a release of some sort to get it all out my head and into written word.

My most emotional one was this: http://dharmagrl.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=12456 .

I wrote it when I didn't know if my friends had been killed in Iraq or not.  It hit me close to home, and....well, you'll see.

I have many favorites, but would have to give the nod to my series "Down and out in America" (http://gideon-macleish.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=27290 ). The reason is, because it was not about statistics, not about numbers, but about putting a very real and personal face on our current experiences. I think through time and repetition on JU, I've grown as a writer, and tend to appreciate my more recent stuff more; I think it has more substance. Another favorite, that's sinking like a stone, is my recent "The Fremont Street Experience".

Heh, you're only stealing from me in that I tried to do this a long time ago but NO ONE responded, so I deleted it. No worries there.

I'll go read yours just after this. Here's the link to my "Dear Blockbuster, I hate you" article. Link I think it's funny, if not particularly deep. If we're going for deep, that would probably be either my Dean scream or Mel Gibson's "Pasion" article.

Good blog.

Thanks to everyone for sharing! I've checked all of your posts out and they are all great! Special thanks to Gideon for reminding me about Texas Wahine's dream article. I love that one!

I probably have a couple favorites. One of my favorite ones was a personal one I wrote telling people a bit more about who I was. Linkorama

Another one I really like (probably because it was my first article here) is my rant about pop music. Thus started me love of writing about music here. Linkerooski

What a fun idea! I had to go back quite a ways to this one

It made me smile to re-live it.

My most popular articles seem to be my little grammar rants, but the ones I personally think are the best are my two poems for my daughter (here (#1) and here (#2); they're kind of a matched set).

I can narrow them down to three...

Why women deserve Better than Abortion
Failure
The Beckham Legend

Of course I have some cheesier ones about nailpolish and alarm clocks that I like as well.

Wow...I guess I'm just undecisive...who would have thought!

Mine would have to be Two Weeks of Sweet Solitude I think because it is so soul cleansing to me for lack of better words, this article got few points and no relpies at first but on a repost Little Whip read it and loved it. I guess it might be to long for the impatient reader. See for yourself....

Janelle's Strange Tattoo is a close second, although it is long too.

chiprj: Thanks for taking the time to read all of those! I saw your "Did you Call Me" blog and just about fell off my chair laughing on several occassions. Let me know if he starts up again, I'm dying to find out where Enrique is and might just need to give him a call.

I don't comment often these days, but I enjoy all your blogs! Thanks for keeping me entertained...it makes the work day go by faster.

I actually though it was one of my poli-sci blogs, but in reality it is the Deadly Charisma 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 military non fiction series I keep meaning to finish... Definately my best work...
