If it's wrong, I've probably said it...
I am so happy

I'm sitting here in my living room, watching the ball game and wondering if Mussina has it in him to finish this game out. It's the top of the 7th and he's still perfect. The coolest part? I'm typing this on my new computer. We went up to San Jose yesterday to do some shopping at the Korean markets (the ones up there are much better than the ones down here) and my wife and I stopped in the CompUSA up there. We walked out with a brand new Sony Vaio RA710G and 17' flat screen monitor!

Quick update on the game. Bellhorn just got the first hit of the night against Mussina. So much for perfect. Is it my fault? I hope so. I can't really stand either team. I've written in comments elsewhere that the dream scenario for me would be for the ALCS to go to 7 games. That way the winner will be a little tired heading into the WS. Because I like neither team, I hope the yankees win in some contraversial fashion. That way the sox fans will be pissed off. Then, I hope that the NL team (probably the cards) either sweeps the yanks or beats them in the deciding game in yankee stadium. That way, the best team that money can buy loses yet again. Don't get me wrong. I don't have any sour grapes specifically because they can buy the talent. That's the rules and if they are willing to open the pocketbook, let 'em. I'm honestly fine with that. I just don't like the yanks. It goes back to when the Indians shared a division with them.

Well, back to the computer. I love it. I decided to spend a little more so I'd get everything I wanted. You can check out the specifics at the Sony site or any computer retailer, so I'm not going to bore anyone with details. But, I will touch on the features that were important to me when I chose this computer. I wanted something that would burn DVD's. This machine has a DVD+/-R drive. It will do double layer +, too. It also has a video card that will allow me to plug my sat box, video camera, or DVR and convert whatever I feed into it into a DVD. I'm especially excited about this feature because I have Korean channels on my sat system and can now record them to DVD and take them in to school to share with the students. I could do this before with VHS, but it required converting it back into digital format to share within the network. And the difference between toting around 25 video tapes and a pack of DVDs is considerable.

Another update - Boston just scored three. Good night Mussina, thanks for stopping by. I hope the sox get to within one and Rivera comes in and shuts everything down! That would rock!

Another plus with this system is that I'll finally get to play new games. I really like my laptop, but it sucked for games. I actually bought two games while I was in Korea that I never got to play. My laptop had the minimums for Warcraft III, but would lock up within 10 minutes of starting the game. I bought Neverwinter Nights and couldn't get past character generation. That one was my fault, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it required twice the video memory my laptop had. But now? I'm good to go, baby. I'm trying to decide what game to buy next and try out. Maybe Sims 2. I never played the first, but it looked really cool!

Back to the game - as I typed that last paragraph, the sox got another two runs! Very nice! 8-5. That's it boys, keep it close. Wear yourselves out. Between the new computer and the game, this is turning out to be a really cool night!

Last year this time I hopped on the BoSox bandwagon with a flip, no hands, and a cup of coffee; needless to say I jumped on quick.

Doesn't look like the Sox will pull this one out of the hat, hopefully they'll make it to the Series, I'm sick of seeing the Yankees. Last year I didn't watch one minute of the WS, because both the Cubs and Sox lost, I was so pissed.

HAHA! I will say that the WS would have been very special if it had been the sox and cubs. But, I'm glad the Marlins won. I went to high school in Florida and lived there a few years after, before joining the military. Also, the yanks lost! HAHA!

Like I said, I'm only hoping they tire themselves out spoiling the party for the sox. Then I hope they get slammed in the WS!
