If it's wrong, I've probably said it...

We went to Costco today. It was pretty busy and the parking lot was packed. We found an empty spot fairly close and I got ready to pull in, but there were two carts right in the middle. A cartjockey was adding a third and a fourth and, apparently, without seeing my car, walked away to get another. When he came back with the fifth, I know that he saw us, but he turned away and went to get more carts. I was too surprised at his apparent disregard for me to roll the window down and say something to the guy! My wife saw the color rising in my face and was about to jump out of the car and move them, but I saw he was on the way back. If he didn't get the carts out this time, I was going to yell. He came back with two more carts, took his sweet time adding them to the others, and looked as if he would go hunt more before moving on. I think he saw me rolling the window down, because he stopped and moved to the end of the line and pushed the carts out of the space. Finally. Really pissed me off that he'd make someone wait for the spot like that. I mean, it's such a little thing, but he was wearing a Costco name tag, and I'm sure they have some kind of don't piss the customer off policy. He actually looked back at me when he was clear of the space - as if to see who it was that hurried him! But by now, he was out of the space, so it would have done little to yell. So I rolled the window up and gave him a glare. Pretty lame, I know.

But it's my blog and I'll rant if I want to, rant if I want to, rant if I want to. You would rant to if it happened to you...

That does suck. Crappy, sucky Costco cartjockeys!

If you don't mind, I'd like to add a parking-related rant of my own . . .

The other day when I went to pick my oldest son up from school my four year old and I came to the crosswalk. I have taught him to look both ways, even when going across a crosswalk because sometimes people aren't paying attention and run through them. So at the crosswalk there is a car parked right on it. This lady is blocking the way across the street. She looks at us, and I look at her and wait. And wait. And wait. She then gives me a "go to hell" look and angrily motions for us to cross the street . . . and walk around her car. Grrrr. Not only was it stupid, illegal, and rude of her, it confused the hell out of my little one to cross the street with a car in the way . . . it went against everything I've taught him.

You know what I do in instances like that? I pull out the cell phone and pretend to call the MPs. I did that once to a guy in the Schofield PX parking lot. Had his stereo blaring heavy metal and it was audible way beyond the 30 ft rule. Normally, it's just a slight annoyance to me, but this guy had the windows rolled down and was just sitting there. So, as I passed his car on my way to his, I told him that he needed to turn it down and pointed to the sign hanging on the front of the building. He gave me a whatever. I told him that maybe he woudln't say whatever to the MPs. I walked to the back of his car and pulled out my cell. Pretended to dial and relay his license plate number. He turned it down as soon as he figured out what it looked like I was doing. Very fun!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, I know, but I do remember it from my childhood (wasn't a 70's song, either). I think my mom had it on a 45.

I know what you mean about this cart thing and wearing the company name badge. I always tell my wife and mom the older
I get the more customer service is important to me and the more republican I become I dont know why. I dont think the two are related in any way. Its just that I have noticed my political views have change drastically since I was 18.("Ya know the saying if your not a liberal at 19 you dont have a heart if your not a conservative at 30 ya dont have a brain") And customer service has also been a big thing for me these last couple of years. If I go out to a resturaunt and I feel that Im being treated rudely or my food is cold or I have to wait to long for my food. I wont leave a tip at all. When I was younger It didnt really matter to me what the service was like I would tip anyway.
