Last night, I wasn't sleeping very well. I don't know if it was because I was worried about the visit to the USCIS today or because my back has been bothering me lately. It was probably a combination of both.
Sometime during the night, both of my dogs decided that they had to be right next to me. This isn't too unusual. They usually take turns sleeping on my pillow or my wife's pillow or between us or down by our legs. But last night, they were right up against me and wouldn't budge. I woke up at about 3 AM and had to run to the bathroom and when I came back, Aji (the older of the two) was in the middle of my heat spot. I had to pick her up and move her and she wasn't having anything to do with that. She rammed herself right up against my chest and curled up there. Umji moved on the pillow so that her one front paw was touching my head.
After that, I slept soundly until the alarm went off. When I woke up, there were in exactly the same position.
The odd part? Well, I dreamt about them during the last part of the night. I had pleasant dreams and they are the first I've remembered in a while that weren't crappy. Now, I'm not going to say they sensed my inability to sleep well and communicated to me or actively gave me the dreams or anything like that. It could be that I just had them on my mind after coming back from the bathroom and that helped relax me. I don't know but I'll leave that to you the readers to ponder. What I will say, though, is that I hope they do it again tonight. My girls make me happy and I like those kinds of dreams.
