If it's wrong, I've probably said it...

So, the holiday season is gearing up. Earlier and earlier, it seems, every year. And this year, it looks as if eBay has decided to really jump on the bandwagon.

I've been a member of eBay for years now. I haven't bought and sold an overwhelming amount of stuff in that time. My feedback score is only in the 90's (100% positive) and my total number of transactions is below 150. But, I have found a lot of stuff there to buy and I've cleaned out a lot of the back room closet and made some money off of the stuff I've found there.

Well, my last transactions on eBay were over 2 months ago and I've barely logged in since then. Once in a while, I'll log in and price check things that I'd like to get, but my watchlist has been empty longer than my selling list. I haven't won and item, let alone placed a bid since spring.

This year eBay has started a very aggressive campaign to get people to buy and sell this season. I've gotten email from them almost every day. Free insertion fees or adding features for free to your sell pages that normally cost money. And just yesterday, I got a catalogue in the real mail. Addressed to me, not resident. Full of all the neat items that everyone wants this year and instead of prices, they tell you exactly which categories to search in to find that item. Very nice marketing, I think.

Almost makes me think that they miss me, but then I remember that they are probably sending the same thing to every member...

Yeah, one time Adrian got grief from the clerk at a video game store because he asked me if he could buy a certain game . . . I mean, it's his money really, and he doesn't have to ask me anything, but in marriage you consider the other person. He just wanted to make sure that the money was there and that I had no objections. It's not being whipped . . . it's the give and take of a relationship, IMO.

Oh, that reminds me of this one time I was at a convenience store with my woman, and I was buying a couple of items. The clerk asked "Do you want a bag for that?" I said (as I pulled my woman in close) "No thanks, I've already got one!"

Boy, did I catch hell for that one later.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I had something similar years ago. A buddy was getting into my car. There were already passengers and other stuff in it. When he was getting in, I told him to just push the bag (there was a backpack on the hump on the floor in the back seat) out of the way. A friend (female) was on that side of the car and she piped up with, "And I'll grab the back pack while you push me." I'm glad she had a good sense of humor. I'd have been in big trouble if she had thought I was talking about her.
