So, over the weekend I convinced my wife that we needed to get a wireless router and card for our computers. We picked up the goods on Sunday and I got everything installed that evening. I have the main computer hooked directly into the router and the laptop now has a wireless card. Everything is running well. I may have to reposition the router a little because the laptop is having a small signal problem if we take it into the bedroom. It still gets a decent signal, just not 100%. It...

Apparently, my best eye catching title in a while was based on a hoax... Oh, well, I'm a sucker. HAHAHAHA! Thanks to shadesofgrey for keeping me honest! {quote}Reply By: shadesofgrey Posted: Wednesday, November 17, 2004 Apparently the story is not true and Hostettler is not a happy camper... http://www.14wfie.com/Global/story.asp?S=2573311&nav=3w6oTC9A [/quote] That may be the best attention catching headline I've posted since Why I have to sit on my hands when riding in grey...

I just saw over on Yahoo Sports that the Giants ink SS Vizquel to three-year pact . If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know that I love baseball and I'm a big fan of Omar Vizquel. He's spent 11 years playing for the Cleveland Indians. Again, if you've been reading for a while, you know I'm originally from Cleveland and the Tribe is my favorite team. I was very sad to see that the Indians didn't pick up his option and they allowed him to file for free agency. I am glad that ...

We just got back from the groomers a little bit ago and I took pictures. Here are a few - Two pics of Aji - And two pics of Umji - I might be biased, but I think they are pretty!

Just got back from dropping a friend off at the airport. We stopped at Denny's (Lenny's?) on the way and had some breakfast. I love Denny's (Lenny's?). I love the idea of having anything off the menu at any time of the day. You want a burger at breakfast? We can do that. You want eggs at 6 PM? We can do that. You want to be under 21 and be drunk and be a bunch of drunk, obnoxious high schoolers and sit two tables away from the off-duty cop? Well, it's not on the menu, but we can do t...

I just got home from setting flags on the graves at the base cemetery. When I turned on the computer, I found an email from my dad. He forwarded me the link to a story about himself and his four brothers. All five served during the Vietnam War. And all five made it home. Pretty damn amazing. Belpre brothers all served in Vietnam I ask you to take a few minutes and read the article. This is a story about my dad, my uncles, my family. As a child, I knew very little about my dad...

Took some new pictures of my girls tonight. We took a break from playing chase the tennis ball and I got a few good shots in the hallway. Umji has a dirty face - I swear it gets dirty 5 minutes after a bath. And they both need haircuts. Bad. Aji went into season right about the time we planned to take them so we had to postpone. The groomers don't really appreciate that sort of thing. Makes the boys go crazy. I'll post more when they get their hair cut.

So, a few days back, I posted about a Reservist that was being activated and how he was surprised and didn't want to report. You can check it out here - Being A Reservist Is A Two-Way Street . Well, I found this while surfing around the net - Kaua'i man sues over recall to active duty . Another guy trying to get out of being activated to serve in the Army. But there's a big difference here. and I totally support this man in his effort to fight being activated. Why? Well, this guy i...

There's a large number of military bloggers in Iraq right now. Here's an article at Beautiful Atrocities where a number of them are rounded up in one place - kevin-from-boots-on-ground-one-of-many . I've added most of the feeds (some of them don't seem to have rss feeds) to my Blog Navigator so I can keep up with their writings. Thought I'd share.

North Korea still has not made any comment acknowledging Bush' re-election. Big surprise and big deal, right? The Chosun Ilbo has a short article detailing this here - N. Korea Still Not Acknowledging Bush Re-election . Could it be that Kim Jong Il thinks that Kerry won? Check it out here - Kim Jong Il's Blog .

Spent the day at the jail today. I was on the duty list to go watch a prisoner that is awaiting transportation to a confinement facility. We don't have MPs, so we use the base police department. If we have a prisoner, we have to be there in person to watch them, though. I had no idea what this would entail, so I showed up about 15 minutes early. Turns out, I know the guy. I had no idea he was in trouble, let alone already convicted and sentenced. I don't know what he did and I didn...

So, earlier today, I let the troll out of the bag, if for just a little while and without the aid of tequila. I must be getting old. But it got me thinking about the thing YOU should never do - Do Not Feed Chip Tequila. That goes for straight shots of tequila. I can still drink it mixed (tobasco is not really an approved mixer when it comes to the rule), just not straight. There is a good reason for this rule. It's kind of like the old Bill Cosby routine about cocaine. He talks a...

So, today, I've been wanting to rant, rant, rant... REALLY RANT, RANT, RANT! But, I'm fighting my inner troll because I know what's good for me and what's not. So, this will not turn into a blog about why I... wow, just typed a whole paragraph there before I realized that's exactly what I didn't want to do... Thanks, Backspace for getting my back(space)...BWAHA! So, instead of ranting about ... there I go again. I will win this fight! The inner troll will not prevail. I am a nice...
